Amazon, Apple, and Supermicro issued statements Thursday denying central claims in a report by Bloomberg BusinessWeek about an alleged chip covertly planted onto motherboards destined for US companies’ data centers
• The chips, according to the report, were placed on the motherboards by Chinese spies so they could get access to private networks
• Supermicro’s stock price dropped 40 percent after the report came out
