The JEC Tower in Saudi Arabia will become the first building in the world to reach a height of 1 km (0.62 miles)

We now have a completion date for what will be the world’s tallest skyscraper – and it’s coming sooner than you might think. The amazing structure is expected to be finished by 2028 and will rise to a mind-boggling height of 1,007 m (3,303 ft) in Saudi Arabia.

World’s tallest residential skyscraper races with Ayrton Senna theme

Senna Tower's height will exceed 500 m (1,640 ft), making it a supertall skyscraper

Plans have been revealed for an eye-catching building that will become the new world’s tallest residential skyscraper. Named Senna Tower, it will be located in Santa Catarina, Brazil, and is designed to pay homage to the legendary racing driver Ayrton Senna.

Six Senses Residences Dubai Marina is expected to be completed in 2028

Dubai already hosts the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and it has now been revealed that it will soon boast bragging rights for the world’s tallest residential skyscraper too. Currently under construction in the city’s Marina district, the supertall will feature 122 floors and just 251 ultra-luxurious residences.

World’s tallest 3D-printed building will take 900 hours to layer up

What’s being hailed as the world’s tallest 3D-printed building is being readied for assembly in a remote Swiss village. The White Tower from researchers at ETH Zurich will be formed from over a hundred columns, with a performance space sat on top.

Work restarts on audacious kilometer-tall skyscraper

The Jeddah Tower has already reached a height of roughly 60 floors but work had been halted for several years

2023 has turned out to be an incredible year for Saudi Arabian architecture so far. First the country confirmed its 170-km (105-mile)-long The Line is going ahead, then revealed plans for a cuboid tower big enough to hold 20 Empire State Buildings. Now, it has reportedly restarted its hugely ambitious plan to build the new world’s tallest building, the Jeddah Tower.

New world’s tallest timber tower crowned in the USA

The Ascent consists of 25 floors. The lower floors include retail and amenity spaces, while the upper floors host a total of 259 apartments

Move over Mjøstårnet, the Ascent, by Korb + Associates Architects, has officially been recognized as the new world’s tallest timber tower by the CTBUH (Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat). Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the residential high-rise reaches an impressive maximum height of 86.6 m (284 ft).
