Koenigsegg Regera grabs the 0-400-0 record back from Rimac

Koenigsegg has dusted off the Regera

Getting from 0 to 400 km/h (249 mph) and back to a standstill as quickly as possible has become a hotly contested acceleration and braking benchmark for the world’s fastest hypercars. It’s not just a test of engine power and braking grip, it’s also an extreme test of traction control, ABS, active aerodynamics and suspension systems.

Terrifying vehicles: Where does Engler’s 1,100-hp quad bike rank?

Does the world need a 1,100-horsepower quad bike?

Take one dynamically unstable, highly dangerous vehicle platform: the venerable quad bike, and juice it up with more than a thousand horsepower, and you’ve got an absolute widowmaker. But is it the ultimate widowmaker? Let’s assess the competition.

The Rimac Nevera has just had a record-setting day of record setting

In a rather comprehensive day’s work, Rimac has broken more or less every relevant acceleration and braking record in the lofty world of hypercars, including rocketing from a standstill to 400 km/h (249 mph) and back to zero in less than 30 seconds.

World’s fastest quadcopter sets official Guinness speed record

Ryan Lademann, left, and friends who came to witness the XLR V3's Guinness-World-Record-setting flight

Racing quadcopters are insanely light, quick and agile, but they’re not typically known for their top-speed figures. Mechanical engineer and hobbyist Ryan Lademann builds his own frames to push the limits, and he’s now bagged a Guinness World Record.

McMurtry Spéirling smashes Rimac Nevera’s acceleration records

With a 0-60 time of 1.4 seconds, and a quarter-mile under eight seconds in the book, the McMurtry Spéirling makes all

British electric hypercar company McMurtry has a somewhat unfair advantage over the rest of the car world, and it’s used it to achieve a pair of astonishing acceleration records: 0-60 mph in 1.4 seconds, and a 7.97-second quarter mile.

Rimac Nevera destroys Tesla record to become world’s fastest EV

Already the world's quickest production car down a drag strip, the Rimac Nevera is now also officially the fastest production EV in history

Croatian electric hypercar manufacturer Rimac has officially laid claim to the outright EV top speed record, at a blistering 258 mph (412 km/h), putting a 91-mph (146-km/h) gap on the highest speed we can find verifiably recorded for a Tesla Model S Plaid.

Mercedes-AMG One hyper-hybrid deletes 8 seconds off Nürburgring record

The Mercedes-AMG One accelerates its way into the record books

Two years ago, Mercedes-AMG knocked Lamborghini off the top of the Nürburgring Nordschleife production car chart with a 6:48.047 time in a GT Black Series. It was very good news for the folks at AMG, especially since they were deep in the works on the even fiercer 1,000-hp One street-legal race car. Mercedes lost the title in 2021, when the Porsche 911 GT2 RS came roaring back to the front of the pack with a 6:43.300. But it’s 2022 now and high time for the Mercedes-AMG One F1-to-freeway hypercar to roll out of the garage and show what it’s made of. And did it ever, knocking several seconds off Porsche’s time to reorder the record sheet.
