Apple Partnering with Guizhou-Big Data on China Data Center

In response to a new cybersecurity law in China that was ratified in June, Apple announced today that it’s establishing a data center in the country’s southern province of Guizhou. The company will be partnering with Guizhou-Big Data (GCBD), a company that was co-founded by the Chinese government. Apple had already been storing encrypted iCloud data on China Telecom servers since 2015.

Quest Launches ‘On Demand’ SaaS Platform for Managing MS Online Apps

Today, Quest Software announced the launch of On Demand, a new software as a service platform that is the company’s first launch since it left Dell’s ownership in November. The platform, which will be showcased at this week’s Microsoft Inspire conference in Washington, D.C., is designed to help administrators manage cloud-based workloads from Microsoft, such as Exchange Online, Skype for Business Online, and Office 365 through an intuitive graphical console.
