With the release of DoD Instruction 8500.01, “Cybersecurity,” on 14 March 2014, the position title and responsibilities of the DoD Authorizing Official (AO) has replaced those of the previous position Designated Accrediting Authority (DAA). DISA’s DoD Cybersecurity Training Branch has completed the web-based training (WBT) for DoD AOs to replace the previous mandatory WBT training for DAAs, which should no longer be used to satisfy AO training requirements. The information in the AO training can also benefit mid-level and senior managers, as well as their supporting staffs.
